There are two types of data, numbers (quantitative) and everything else (qualitative). Quantitative data consists of numbers and determining relationships (sometimes statistical). Qualitative data describes the meaning of something. Determining the difference between quantitative and qualitative data is a key skill for beginning evaluators.
