Yvonne is passionate about making this world a better place, in whatever way she can!  She brings a rich lived experience to her position, with a background in research, international development, community planning, non-profit program implementation, violence prevention, and one-on-one healing modalities.  Her educational background includes a degree in Sociology, Spanish & Civic Engagement from the University of Alaska Anchorage (UAA).  At UAA, she conducted community-based research on a wide variety of social issue topics in conjunction with the Institute of Social & Economic Research, UAA Office of Undergraduate Research, UAA Justice Center, and the Center for Community Engagement and Learning. Yvonne served as Alaska’s Statewide Coordinator for Girls on the Run, an after school program for girls in 3rd – 8th grade that uses running games to teach life lessons that aim to prevent domestic violence and sexual assault by increasing girls’ self-esteem, confidence, and toolkit for fostering healthy relationships.

When she’s not hiking, singing, or hitting the beach, you can find her in her van parked by a beautiful spot in nature working remotely from Starlink!
