Culturally Responsive Evaluation Case Study Worksheet

Culturally responsive evaluation honors the cultural context in which an evaluation takes place by bringing needed, shared life experience and understandings to the evaluation tasks at hand. An evaluation is culturally responsive if it fully considers the culture of the program that is being evaluated through the lens(es) of the culture of the participants, thus rejecting the notion that evaluations should be objective and free from bias. This worksheet provides a case study of one program evaluation effort attempting to apply culturally responsive evaluation approaches. Read the case study and determine what implementers did to remain culturally responsive and what they could have done differently to improve cultural responsiveness.
